BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia returned to her Gulshan residence on Tuesday evening after treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital for nine days. BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said the BNP chief left the hospital at 5:30pm and reached home around 6:45pm.
Earlier on Sunday (June 23), a pacemaker was implanted in the BNP chairperson's heart at the hospital after she was taken there in the afternoon the previous day.
Since then, she has been under close observation of doctors. "Madam was discharged from the hospital as per the medical board's advice. The board made the decision after reviewing her health condition and the latest medical reports," said her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
He said the BNP chairperson's physical condition is now stable after the pacemaker implantation. "So, doctors will continue to provide her with treatment at home as before."
The BNP Chairperson was taken to Evercare Hospital by an ambulance after midnight on June 21 (Friday) after she fell ill at her Gulshan house. Then she was shifted to critical care unit (CCU) of the hospital where she underwent through close observation of her physicians.
