The Farakka Dam was opened on an 'experimental' basis for two months. But Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has complained that even after 50 years, the examination has not been completed.

He said these things at a discussion meeting on the occasion of historical Farakka Day organized by Maulana Bhasani Foundation at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday (May 16) afternoon.

Under the chairmanship of member secretary of the organization Mahmudul Haque Sanu and moderated by SK Sadi, former leader of Krishak Dal, BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Special Assistant to the Chairperson Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Advisers Abdus Salam, Nazmul Haque Nannu, Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Krishak Dal Former central leader Mainul Islam and others gave speeches.
