“On the occasion of Armed Forces Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all members of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force. I wish continued happiness, peace, and prosperity for all members of the Armed Forces and their families. On this day, I pray for the continued progress and development of the Armed Forces and seek eternal peace for the martyrs of the Liberation War from the Armed Forces.  

The Armed Forces, built on courage, valor, and discipline, are a proud institution of our nation. Their glorious role in our great Liberation War is a golden chapter in history. The patriotic members of the Armed Forces act as vigilant guardians in protecting our independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They also play an important role in maintaining global peace. Our Armed Forces personnel working in United Nations peacekeeping missions bring great honor to the nation through their competence and high professionalism. In tackling natural disasters in the country, the Armed Forces have become a symbol of the nation's trust by playing a pivotal role.  

The declarer of our independence and former President, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, undertook and implemented extensive programs to transform the Bangladesh Armed Forces into a modern, dynamic, and professional force in tune with the changing world. On this day, I pay deep respect to his memory.  

I also pay humble tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War: Bir Sreshtho Sepoy Mostafa Kamal, Bir Sreshtho Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, Bir Sreshtho Sepoy Hamidur Rahman, Bir Sreshtho Ruhul Amin, Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman, Bir Sreshtho Lance Naik Nur Mohammad Sheikh, and Bir Sreshtho Lance Naik Munshi Abdur Rauf.  

From the time of Shaheed Zia, the Bangladesh Armed Forces have transformed into a disciplined, agile, and ever-ready modern force comparable to the military of any advanced nation. During the BNP government, significant efforts were made to modernize and strengthen the Armed Forces, building upon Shaheed Zia’s programs. This endeavor will continue in the future.  

I wish all the programs of Armed Forces Day complete success.
