Condolence message of BNP Acting Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman.

Eminent lawyer Barrister Moinul Hossain, the eldest son of the famous journalist late Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia, the founder of Dainik Ittefaq newspaper and advisor to the former caretaker government, passed away today while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihe Rajiun). He was 83 years old at the time of his death. Acting Chairman of BNP Mr. Tarique Rahman has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Barrister Moinul Hossain.

In a condolence message today, the Acting Chairman of BNP said, "I am deeply saddened by the death of Barrister Moinul Hossain, like his family and relatives. He was a fearless voice during the current dire crisis of democracy. 

Despite being repeatedly imprisoned during the current fascist Awami government, he never backed down from speaking the truth. He was never afraid of the bloody eyes of the Awami government. In his death, the country lost a true patriot. The passing away of an eminent lawyer and genius like him from the world is undoubtedly touching and very painful. His vacancy is not easily filled.

I seek forgiveness for the departed soul of Barrister Moinul Hossain and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, and well-wishers.”
