BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam  said, 'Our finance minister says that a wonderful budget has been made. The government says a beautiful budget will bring change. Our "controlled media" says this budget will not bring any relief to the people. This inflation, the terrible economic crisis — they have completely failed to deliver the budget that needs to be there to get out of here.'

He said this at a discussion meeting organized at Dhaka Reporters Unity Auditorium on the occasion of the 42nd death anniversary of former President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

he said, 'There is nothing clearly said about how the money will come, where the money will come from, how the growth will be achieved. Not to mention that it is their characteristic. They cheat people all the time. They want to survive by misleading people.'
